L.A. Noire: The Wait Is Over

4 Comments 16 May 2011

L.A. Noire may be the epitome of cool in video gaming. From the opening trailer, it seems as if Rockstar has emulated the best of Francis Ford Copolla and Martin Scorsese. Now, if this game has found a way to infuse Quentin Tarantino’s badassery, well, we won’t be putting down the controller for quite some time.

We especially like the way the trailer starts off. It’s engaging; it reminds us of our winters in the city. The car headlights warming the roads, the snow gently falling amidst the skyscrapers, and music fit for a nice glass of scotch and a cigar. Rockstar is maturing.

Rockstar’s 2010 release, Red Dead Redemption, showed us that they can create a character we can empathize with. Sure, running around the streets of Liberty City was a riot, but riding the Texas dirt trails as John Marston brought a whole new level of appreciation for game design.

If Rockstar can not only duplicate their previous success, but can build upon it another character worth living vicariously through, this may just be the game we talk about another six months from now.

L.A. Noire releases tonight (May 17th) at midnight at select locations.

Days away from starting LA Noir. Been hearing around my circles that it’s more straight forward than expected. Don’t know how that will affect my liking it or not, but I found that interesting.

This game in my opinion has definitely had shown its glory for being a game made by Rockstar. Not only does it bring you too this other world of almost feeling as if you are this law abiding cop/detective, you are also solving these investigations throughly and you have the power to charge an innocent bystander with serious criminal acts. This game is and always will be a buy in my opinion.

mmmmk, i did beat it and here’s how it plays out, theres the random cases you solve that have no correlation, then theres the few that are all connected in the end, then there are the mass load of cases that are connected in a different way from the previous load of cases, then the game is over and you think of how cool a game it was but wish that there was something more epic or mind twisting about it. and i’ll be honest, at times they would explain their logic for coming to some sort of conclusion in some cutscenes and i must be either dumb or something because i had a difficult time understanding it, probly wasn’t paying attention enough or forgot what had happened earlier. oh i’m going to say this now because it really pissed me off,

*Spoiler* (spoiler has nothing to do with plot just tells the location of a difficult to find clue)

when you do a case called the gas man and your partner says go talk to the neighbor, theres a clue by the tree in the corner on the neighbors yard by the mass of people outside the crime scene, under that tree are footprints, 1. really difficult to find (thank you youtube) 2. you cannot progress unless you find that clue which was really aggravating.
