Dragon Age 2 Initial Thoughts

1 Comment 26 March 2011

Prepare the blood splatters!  Seriously.  Kill a few darkspawn and apparently everybody looks like they stood shopside at a meat grinder.  But that’s ok – because that’s why we play Dragon Age.  It’s not all about the glory; sometimes it’s about the mass amount of blood flying through the air.  How it doesn’t annoy the characters is beyond me – I think I’d be continually wiping the blood out of my eyes.

Year In Review: What We Learned From 2010

1 Comment 30 December 2010

2010 was a great year in gaming.  For Americans, it showed that the video game industry can thrive even during tough economic times.  For story buffs, we were blessed with a breakout year from Bioware.  FPS loyalists saw more action from Bungie and Call of Duty.

What did we learn though?  We see the trends, hell we even play them, but what did the last 365 days actually teach us about the industry?  Click below to read what permeated the collective braintrust at Glitchoris.com.

Fallout: New Vegas Mid-Game Thoughts

1 Comment 26 November 2010

As is the case with most video games, the longer you play them, the more you notice the small things.  Fallout: New Vegas is no different.  I mean, on a thematic level, New Vegas does not offer an entirely new genre to the video gaming industry.  It has created its own battle system (V.A.T.S.), and the world the story takes place in is a novel idea.  However, it’s the small things that will keep you playing.

Happy Thanksgiving from Glitchoris! Here Is What We Are Thankful For

2 Comments 25 November 2010

‘Tis the season to eat like we have three mouths and two assholes.  Time to eat your mother’s famed green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, and warm turkey.  We surround the table with friends and family to share the warmth of our hearths and hearts.  Then, after we are done gorging on fourths and fifths, we boot up our PS3′s and 360′s and shoot things in the head.  But let us take a step back for a minute.  Rather, in keeping with the spirit of Thanksgiving, we at Glitchoris want to share with you what we are happy for this year.

Stuck In A Rut? Try These Classics To Bust You Out

3 Comments 06 November 2010

Playing a video game should not only be something fun to do, but something you should look forward to doing.  Daydreaming aside, a lot of the fun involving gaming stems from the anticipation of holding the controller or waiting to pull the trigger and complete another headshot.  But every now and then, even in the wake of many new releases, we struggle to find a game that really charges us.  Try one or more of the games below to get yourself out of that rut.

Second Opinion: Mass Effect 2 Review

No Comments 19 September 2010

Opinions are like assholes – everyone’s got one.  Here at Glitchoris, we have two – literally and figuratively.  Even with our ultra-selective game screening system, our reviews will ultimately cross paths from time to time in what we like to call “Second Opinions”.  Mass Effect 2 gets to be the guinea pig.  Tebo struck the Mass Effect 2 review gong first, which you can find here.  Click the link below for a second take from this site’s other asshole.  Figuratively, you douche.

Mass Effect 2 Mid-Game Thoughts

No Comments 11 July 2010

Yeah so I’m well aware that Mass Effect has been on store shelves for nearly seven months now, but let’s exercise some common sense shall we?  How many people actually fucking read Glitchoris on a regular basis?  Three?  So who cares if I’m six months late.  With that out of the way, if you’ve read some of my other articles around the Glitchoris Network (Retroade included), you’ll know that I have a Twilight-level man-crush with Bioware and everything they put out.  The original Mass Effect?  Outstanding, although I still rank the original KOTOR as their best game to date, with probably Baldur’s Gate numero dos as, well, numero dos.  Getting back to Commander Shepard’s sequel, I originally picked this title up back in January when she was released, although I have to admit, God of War 3 cut into my ME2 time quite a bit.  Having picked ME2 back up, and being asked to pop in the second disk, I figured there wasn’t a better time to serve up some mid-game thoughts.
