This Week’s No Comment Comment

0 Comments 08 June 2011

Pyro.  Designer.  Dream Job.  One of these is not like the other – or is it? This week’s No Comment Comment takes a bit of a turn.  Usually, after the numerous gaming/tech/Maxim articles we read (did you know Sasha Jackson is a former National High Board Diver?), the comments that make us laugh are also the ones that make us look at the author of the comment in total shame and ultimate judgment.

But not this week!  We give credit to Flunk from an article on Ars Technica.  “The Death March” (great article title) discusses the shitty amount of hours developers are told they have to put in during crunch week (month/year).  Seriously.  Apparently their bosses make them walk the plank above sharks with laser beams attached to their freakin’ heads if they don’t produce.

Flunk’s comment came in lieu of reading that designing bricks and fire for GTA IV is a job for the resident invalid designer.  Give it up to Flunk for overcoming adversity with overt enthusiasm:

“Excuse me sir, it may not apply for everyone but you are describing my dream job. Something that combines my love of computer algorithms with my love of fire? Sign me up!”

If we all had that enthusiasm.  Alas, we must keep those passions separate.  However, in case anything goes wrong, we provide you with a video below just in case:
